At the Richmond Library Nicole Russell is exhibiting artworks with a focus on whanau, community and ancestry. Nicole’s lifelong interest in the historical aspects of her surroundings and her connection to family, friends and community was especially reinforced by the isolation experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nicole believes that beauty, strength and guidance are influenced by your surroundings, the present and the past. Historic structures are witnesses of life, love, whanau, ambitions and connection to the land. They are witnesses of time, and experiencing them can fill you with pride for your ancestry and strength for your future.
