Running your own Tuku 26 Whakatū event

Calls for events for Tuku 26 Whakatū are now open!

Yes that right, we are all looking forward to next year festival! It’s now time to register your event ideas with the festival team.

Fill in this online form to register your event and if required, submit a grant application.

The submission deadline for this is 5pm Monday 12th January 2026.

This page gives you all the support and information you need to become an “event host” by lodging an event listing/grant application.

First of all, please read the Tuku 26 Event Host Information Pack for advice on listing and grant criteria.

Complete the Event Host/Listing Registration form once you have your idea and you think it will suit our criteria. You only need to fill in the grant application section of the form if you are asking for financial support. The submission deadline for this is 5pm Monday 12th January 2026.

Alternatively, to support Te Ao Māori ways of working, you can simply reach out to Tom Ransom Arts and Heritage Adviser to book a kanohi ki te kanohi session to discuss your project. For more enquiries contact: tom.ransom@ncc.govt.nz.

The festival team will be in touch with all listing and grant applicants in mid January 2026. At that stage you will know if your event will be in the programme. After that, the following advice on how to undertake health and safety risk assessment and comms/promotion planning may be useful.
